THIS IS HOW AND WHY I PAINT. LOOK CLOSER, paint it better, find it more to your liking. We all want to be healthy, free and inspired. We want to thrive, and love and be loved. I believe it is possible and my work is my testament to this belief.
the NEW paintings and flowers
are the embodiment of my life's work. Most importantly they speak of love and a trust in love. Love is my greatest inspiration and in my painting this is represented by my love and trust in paint and how I use it and more importantly what it shows me. I love paint, second to love it is my greatest inspiration. It is most important that I allow the paint to be paint and love it for what it is. I equate paint with the natural order of our universe. I respect the paint and allow it to show me things and teach me things. It is by great observation and an acquired knowledge of working with paint that I gain more and more respect for it. I have been working with paint most of my life and it is very clear to me that it will continue to show and teach me beautiful lessons about life, about being healthy, and a compasionate and a loving human being. I think the best way to explain this is to look at paint and myself being involved in a wonderful relationship. I allowed myself to fall deeply in love with paint, and I have committed to it for most of my life. I have come to appreciate everthing paint can do, it can drip, splatter, hold an infinite amount of color, be opaque, be transparent, come together to represent recognizable people, animals, plants or landscapes or remain abstract and inspire emotions, music, thoughts, the possiblilites are endless. My life's work has been to express my joy and love for paint which for me then translates into the endless possibilites of joy and love in life. I have learned through paint and it affirms this lesson daily to me through my painting and observation of my painting that loving is our greatest quality as human beings. And I therefore believe that love, loving and being loved is what will ultimately save us, our humanity.

NOTE TO ART WORLD~I've got a very important message in my painting and although it is not a popular one in the Art World today I think that if you take the time to look you will see very quickly how relevant it is to our times. There is a great need in the art world for an artist like myself and you have the opportunity right now to join forces with me and ride this wonderful wave. The work is very original, for it is my story and a new way to paint, and is unknowingly being anticipated by you and the greater world. My message is about the necessity to nurture our love, and love for each other to save ourselves. I am a very accomplished painter who has been able to produce a work that has brought together some of the best strengths in painting's history to date to create a work that carries my story and a new way to paint that makes perfect sense to us in its directness and simplicity. With thought and study we wonder why this painting has not been created before and how it has been overlooked and we think to ourselves, "This artist Joel is on to something real HUGE, he's working with the most important issue of our day, THIS IS GONNA BE HUMONGOUS (and I want to be a part of this!!!). The complexity and magic behind the work inspires us to address our most pressing issue of our day, LOVE, with much hope and enthusiasm. I was a part of you, the high end international art world in the 90's and decided to distance myself from this world and concentrate on making art for a more populous audience. I never stopped painting and have been very successful with my art outside of this world, but now the maturity in my work, and for my vision to be realized I need to return to your art world to best express my life's work.
